In 1998, the Catholic Foundation established as its general fund the Bishop’s Greatest Needs Fund, in honor of Bishop Robert J. Banks, founder of the Foundation. All unrestricted gifts to the Foundation become part of this fund and the diocesan Bishop decides which areas of greatest need receive grants from it.
Several individuals and families also have established greatest needs funds to assist their parish, the Bishop’s Appeal, religious orders, Camp Tekakwitha, and Catholic elementary or high school.
