The Missionary Cooperation Appeal (MCP) helps missionary organizations around the world appeal to Catholics for financial support. In the Diocese of Green Bay, 38 groups are invited to make missionary appeals in each of our parishes. These missionaries invite our parishioners to help people in some of the poorest regions of the world.
The Catholic Foundation’s World Mission Services helps coordinate the MCP collections in our diocesan parishes during the months of May through September. One of these missionary organizations is The Foundation for Children in Need (FCN) in India. Tom Chitta and Dr. Geetha Yeruva care for 200 of the orphaned, disabled, and elderly at the FCN home site. The community is working together to improve the lives of the needy in India.
Ephesians 2:10 states, “We are God’s work of art, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance for us to do.”
“By Jesus’ example and countless verses from scripture, we know that we are called to serve others. One of the ways we are able to be a light in the world and serve the least fortunate is by generously sharing what we have with those who have little,” shared Danielle Dercks, World Mission Services Coordinator.
