History

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Green Bay was established in Don-Long-Bishop-Banks1997 by Bishop Robert Banks.  Don and Darlene Long were initial founders, and Don served as our first Board President.  Throughout the Foundation’s history they have encouraged stewardship, Catholic endowments and investments that benefit the Diocese of Green Bay, it’s ministries, parishes and schools throughout northeastern Wisconsin.

For more than 25 years, the Catholic Foundation conducts the annual Bishop’s Appeal and administers more than 350 endowments and funds with assets of more than $200 million.  In addition to the Appeal, the Foundation leads and organizes other campaigns such as World Missions Services Collections, Raising Vocations Collection, and the one by One capital campaign.
