Catholic Foundation Grant Helps More Kids Discover Jesus at Holy Rosary Catholic School

In the last three years, Holy Rosary Catholic School in Kewaunee has seen a greater need for tuition assistance, so more children can have the opportunity to have an education with Jesus at the center. Thanks to a Catholic Foundation Advancing the Mission Lifelong Catechesis Endowment grant, Holy Rosary could provide tuition assistance for more students.

Holy Rosary Catholic School serves 4K through 8th grade, helping more children encounter Jesus through a faith-filled education. While approximately 20% of their students qualify for the Wisconsin School Choice Program, there are many who do not qualify but still struggle and sacrifice, so their children can receive a Catholic education.

Based on Holy Rosary’s Free & Reduced Lunch Program, about 25% of their student body comes from low-income families. The money received through this grant assists those families.

“Thanks to this Catholic Foundation grant, more children will meet Jesus. The faith-filled education they receive will give them the building blocks of faith, so they can become the leaders of tomorrow and answer God’s call for their lives,” shared Kris Stollberg, Principal at Holy Rosary Catholic School.

The assistance granted to these families allows parents to fulfill their hope for their children to attend a school where they receive an excellent education and grow their faith.

Grants and the generosity of parishioners and alumni have helped the school continue their mission and grow their enrollment. Last year, eight students from six families were supported through the grant.

Families who receive assistance are required by the school’s Tuition Assistance Policy to share their time and talent with the school and parish, thus instilling the importance of serving others and encouraging them to be active members of the school and parish community.

In prior years, families have helped with fundraising, marketing, and school activities planned through the school’s Home & School Association. Others help with the Parish flowerbeds and with the annual Church Picnic.

By receiving a Catholic education and using their gifts to serve the Church, Holy Rosary hopes the students supported by this grant hear Christ’s call to become faith-filled leaders.

“Studies show the link between Catholic School attendance and the future of the Catholic Church and vocations. Our hope is that students who receive assistance from this grant, and their families, continue to build the Church and develop their own faith life as well as relationships and bonds within the Parish,” explained Stollberg.

Because of the support of many generous families like yours, Catholic Foundation grant recipients like Holy Rosary Catholic School can help more children discover Jesus.  Together in faith, we leave a legacy for a brighter tomorrow!
