What do these stones mean to you? ~Joshua 4:6
We hear in the book of Joshua the story of God calling the Israelites to place stones in the Jordan River. These stones allow them to cross safely and is a strong example of the Israelites’ legacy.
More than a quarter century ago, another legacy to benefit the Catholic Church was being built right here in northeastern Wisconsin. The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Green Bay was established by Bishop Robert Banks, Donald Long, Sr., and Cindi Brawner. It was with humble beginnings and deep faith that the first stones were put in place to build the Catholic Foundation.
Through the generosity of thousands of families, the Foundation has grown to more than 350 funds, endowments, and donor advised funds. These legacies were established to benefit our Catholic parishes, schools, and diocesan ministries. As part of the work of the Foundation, we support all diocesan-wide fundraising which includes the Bishop’s Appeal, Raising Vocation Collection, World Mission Services Collections, capital campaigns, and working closely with families interested in remembering the Church in their estate plans.
Here at the Catholic Foundation, it is our honor to partner with you in leaving your legacy to benefit the Church. The success of the Catholic Foundation is because of friends like you who love the Church and want to see more people discover Jesus in their lives. Thank you for opening your heart and for all you do to further the mission of the Church.
As you pray, please consider this one question: “What legacy will you leave?”
