Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
The Catholic Foundation is saddened by the death of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. As we pray for the repose of his soul, we also remember the impact and blessings he has shared with the Catholic Church over the course of his papacy, as well as the many years he served as a priest, auxiliary bishop, archbishop, and cardinal.
His humility, emphasis on God’s mercy, concern for the poor, and commitment to interreligious dialogue are all hallmarks of his papacy. He was the first non-European pope since the 8th century and was the first pope from the Americas. He will be remembered for his constant call to the faithful and all people of good will to protect all human life, be good stewards of God’s creation, and to love all people, especially those most vulnerable among us.
The Catholic Foundation invites all people in northeastern Wisconsin and beyond to join us in prayer for the repose of Pope Francis’ soul and for all the souls of the faithful departed.
