The Catechism of the Catholic Church, drawing on the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, says “The ministerial priesthood has the task not only of representing Christ — Head of the Church — before the assembly of the faithful, but also of acting in the name of the whole Church when presenting to God the prayer of the Church, and above all when offering the Eucharistic sacrifice.”
Because priests are our “Hope for the Future” the Diocese of Green Bay invites the faithful of the Diocese to participate in providing for the training, formation, and education of seminarians — our future priests.
Fortunately, the number of seminarians is increasing, but that also means we need to continue to generously support seminarian education so they can serve us, our children, and grandchildren.
Each year, we need nearly $900,000 to assist our seminarians with tuition, room and board, health care, and other expenses — including inviting more men to consider the priesthood. Your gift helps offset those costs.
